What's a spayathon?

A spayathon is a word invented by our founder, Nancy Janes, defined as "a campaign for high volume spay and neuter surgeries, whereby 30 surgeries or more are performed". Like a marathon, a spayathon is an endurance exercise. The vet team is working around the clock to spay and neuter as many animals as possible, in the shortest possible period of time, without compromising the quality of the service provided. When traveling to remote areas of Romania it is important for us to surgically sterilize as many animals as needed, so that we can make a real impact on their lives and that of their community, before we move on to another campaign in a different part of the country.

Craiova Villages Spayathon May 28 - June 4

Saturday, May 28, 2016 - 09:00 to Saturday, June 4, 2016 - 22:00

Romania Animal Rescue is holding a Cat & Dog Spayathon across several villages surrounding Craiova, Romania from May 28 to June 4, 2016.

Please support us in our work to spay and neuter, free of charge, in our goal of reducing the number of stray dogs and cats roaming the streets of Romania. This is the most humane way to help the stray animals, by providing the means for them not to reproduce, i.e. no more suffering puppies or kittens. We cannot do this work without your continuous support.
